PBLearning × VRChat
A shared VRChat space to bring PBLearning projects to life: meet students from other schools, discuss a problem and build an answer as a team.
Explore the planned experienceCOIL stands for Collaborative Online International Learning: teachers in different countries design an activity that their students carry out together remotely.
Each institution has its own PBLearning workspace and selects the participants to share. The host school organises the shared project and can form mixed teams. VRChat adds a meeting place to this collaboration, which can also support a project within a single school.
The planned PBLearning world will bring a project’s participants into the same instance, with spaces for different stages of their work.
A welcome area to meet other teams, find tutors and discover partner institutions through their logos.
Each team will have a room with a dedicated audio zone for focused discussion before rejoining everyone for shared activities.
Screens will display the problem brief and its images. A board for each team will hold ideas, questions and hypotheses.
In the opening problem-based learning session, the team explores the brief, clarifies terms and organises hypotheses on the board with tutor support.
Students divide research and tasks, continue their activities in PBLearning and prepare a shared response.
In the debrief session, the team shares its findings, discusses solutions and explains what it has learned.
Boards are a shared drafting space. Students use their assigned roles to transfer useful material into PBLearning forms, where the project’s work is kept.
The planned guidance will help students and tutors install VRChat, prepare their equipment and link their account to PBLearning with the bot’s help.
Linking an account will remain optional for access to the web project: PBLearning instructions, activities and forms will stay accessible while VRChat access is being prepared.
Teachers will be able to enable a VRChat space for a project, then choose which sessions in its project and problem-based learning cycles take place there.
PBLearning bot invitations are planned shortly before the relevant time slots, for participants with linked accounts. Teams will join the same project space.
